SEPTEMBER: The Red Clay Ramblers are a North Carolina–based band founded in Durham, North Carolina, performing continuously since their formation in 1972. Baby Blue Arts Presents is a half-hour television music series that features some of the finest musicians around –- and they all happen to be in Minnesota! Each program showcases a particular musician or musical group. Programs cover many different genres: jazz, classical, blues, folk, world, young artists. While most programs are taped in the CCX Create TV studio, we also film some on location. The Producers' goal is to make great music available to a larger audience than many musicians would normally reach. Viewers fortunate enough to have access to this program are treated to a series of free concerts on their television! Strata: Portraits of Humanity is a monthly half-hour newsmagazine-style show. Each episode of the human story is a portrait building on the many layers of the human experience. This is a record we are just beginning to uncover. From that perspective, Strata delivers in-depth coverage of a wide variety of archaeological and cultural heritage topics all around the world. AUGUST: “The Time They Spent Here”: This film surveys the truly stunning rock art still visible on Sweden’s west coast, carved by artists beginning around 4,000 years ago, depicting Bronze Age animals, humans, ships, weapons, and symbols. Techniques to preserve this artistic heritage range from paper rubbings to digital reconstruction. (2) “Diving in Aegean History”: This film follows the first systematic underwater archaeological survey around Kasos Island in the Aegean Sea. The survey team did intensive diving in search of ancient shipwrecks and artifacts from Homeric times through the 20th century.

With the American Civil War looming, construction of the Pacific railroad is being held up in Kansas, sabotaged by Confederate sympathizers. The government dispatches an Army engineer, John Nelson (Sterling Hayden), to oversee construction, and he initially rubs the wrong way both his proud boss (Barton MacLane) and his boss's feisty daughter (Eve Miller). Eventually, though, both fall for Nelson's charms, and the hero seeks to uncover the Southern rat so he can lead the Union men due west.

Rex (Rex Allen) and Slim (Slim Pickens) journey to Colorado, where Slim is expecting to claim the estate of the departed Zeke Reynolds. But the will also includes Jacqueline Reynolds (Mary Ellen Kay) and the evil Hurley siblings (June Vincent, Fred Graham).
