The owner of a neighboring farm, however, wants to get rid of the pesky animals, so he hires the Kanga Catcher (Harold Hopkins) to take them to Sydney. But baby kangaroo Joey slips from his mom's pouch, and Billy retrieves him. Hoping to reunite little Joey with his parents, Billy teams up with Linda (Alex McKenna), the daughter of an American ambassador, and sets off for Sydney.
